If You Belong to a Book Club, Don’t Miss this Post!

Do you belong to a book club? If so, I would LOVE it if your club would consider choosing my memoir, Cancer Was Not a Gift & It Didn’t Make Me a Better Person:  A memoir about cancer as I know it, to read and then discuss at one of your upcoming monthly get-togethers. I am super excited to offer a great discount some FREE books to the first club that selects my memoir and agrees to share with me about how the experience goes.

I am offering to send up to ten FREE copies to the first club that takes me up on my offer! Yes, ten FREE copies! If I get several takers on this offer, I’ll do a giveaway. So give it some thought if you are part of a book club that is searching for titles to consider. (USA mailing address required and all books will be shipped to one address).

Just think of the wonderful discussions that could potentially be opened up on any one of the universal themes in my memoir. Some topics sure to generate lots of discussion for your group might include:  breast cancer, cancer in general, family relationships, siblings, hereditary cancer, pink ribbon culture, pinkwashing, Breast Cancer Awareness Month (it’s coming!), growing up in a small town, death, grief, pets, survivorship, recurrence, treatment and side effect issues, metastatic disease, research, memoirs and on and on.

My memoir is full of great discussion starters. Sure some of them are heavy topics, but all the more reason to talk about them, right?

I don’t think talking about heavy topics is depressing; I find not talking about them is. In fact, some day I would love to put together an accompanying ‘workbook’ for my memoir to help facilitate such discussions.

After all, who among us has not been, or will not be, impacted by many of these universal topics?

Sound interesting?

If so, leave a comment stating your interest and we will go from there.

The only stipulation is someone from your book club will need to agree to chat with me about how the whole experience goes, even if it were to end up going poorly.

So there you have it.

Nancy, I never belonged to a book club, and sadly I don't read enough. I wish I would. I agree with Beth that your memoir would be a great choice for a book club because it tackles so many different topics. People would have discussions for weeks. I'll share your post with people I know who may take advantage of this offer. And thank you for all you do. xx

Hi Nancy,

I used to belong to a book club, but I don't at this time. However, I will share your post. I think your memoir would be an excellent book for a book club to read and discuss. Great idea!

My book club would love to read your book and share our discussion with you. We only need four books. Two of our book club members have had mastectomies.
