Another Mother’s Day…

Another Mother’s Day…

The calendar says another Mother’s Day has rolled around again. Who are you thinking about? I’m thinking about…

Mothers and women everywhere who love and nurture children, and not just their own…

Mothers, especially young mothers, who are presently undergoing rigorous cancer treatment, doing whatever it takes while also raising their children…

How to be a better mother myself…

My three amazing kids. I love them dearly and am incredibly proud of each of them. I hate how they “know” cancer so well, but admire them for how they’ve never flinched through any of it.

Those who are new (and those who are not so new) to the “motherless daughter’s club.”

Those who want to be mothers, but for whatever reason cannot and will not realize this dream.

Mothers and grandmothers who are no longer with us, but none-the-less remain treasures of our hearts…

And of course, I’m thinking about and missing my mother… We will not forget.

To those who celebrate and to those who remember, Happy Mother’s Day!

Who are you thinking about today?

Do you celebrate Mother’s Day?

Nancy,

I'm so sorry that breast cancer stole your mom from you and everyone who loved her. I cannot imagine such a devastating loss.

Your children sound so wonderful. I think part of that is due to your being an awesome mother.

I hope you have a Mother's Day filled with remembrance, joy, and all the great things in life that you and your family deserve.

Beth, Thank you for your kind words. All of them. And I hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day, Beth.

This is the second Mother's Day I have to get through this year. Mother's Day was celebrated in March in Europe. But as I am sure I said at the time, I miss my mum on this day, but I miss her just as much each and every ordinary day spent without her. I am also thinking of those for whom this day is also a tough reminder of dreams of motherhood lost.

Marie, I know you're dealing with yet another Mother's Day... I miss my mother every day too, it's never about just one day is it? Like you, I think it's important to remember that this day is tough for many. I also believe it's important to honor all women who love and nurture children, and not just their own. Thank you for sharing and for including my post in your round-up too.
