The Living Beyond Breast Cancer 2014 Fall Conference & Why I’m Going

The Living Beyond Breast Cancer 2014 Fall Conference & Why I’m Going

A couple of months ago, I was honored to be invited to be a guest participant during this year’s Living Beyond Breast Cancer Fall Conference to be held Saturday, September 27th in Philadelphia. I have been asked to participate in a couple of other conferences on occasion, but so far I’ve declined for various reasons. This time I said yes. I agreed to be part of a panel discussing a topic near and dear to my heart – blogging. How could I say no to that?

I am stepping out of my comfort zone (from behind my keyboard) because I so passionately believe in the power of sharing our stories through blogging or any other venue for that matter. If I can encourage others to share/blog about their breast cancer experiences and thus reap some of the same benefits that I have garnered from blogging, count me in. Plus, this conference has a mets track included on this year’s agenda, and this is important to me as well. Click on the image below to learn more about this year’s conference. The hashtag for updates about the event on social media is #LBBCconf.

So, it’s off to Philadelphia for me this weekend.

If you’re in the area, maybe I’ll see you there.

Wish me luck!

And of course I’ll let you know how things go.

Have you attended any cancer conferences?

If so, what was your experience like and would you recommend that others attend one?

I hope you had a lovely time! I haven't attended any cancer conferences, I am not sure how well I would do immersing myself in cancerland for a few days straight. I get emotional, I'll blame the hormones (or lack of...). :)

Mandi, I did have a lovely time. Blog post to come at some point. I know what you mean about those apprehensions. I did have some mixed feelings about attending such an event, but turns out it was a wonderful experience. I would encourage you to attend one if you get a chance. And yes, those hormones... Thank you for reading and commenting.

Thank you, Nancy, for your presentation. I was at the conference and attended the blogging session. You did a wonderful job; you were clear, concise, and very informative. Maybe one day I'll actually start blogging!

Charleen, It is just terrific that you took time to let me know you attended the session. Thank you so much for your feedback! I felt like I still had so much more to share when our time ended... I had a really good time sharing about my passion for blogging; it was a genuine pleasure for me to be there on the panel with Nicole and LuAnn. I hope you do start that blog! Let me know if and when that happens. Thanks again.

Awesome! I know you will have an impact at the conference. Enjoy the experience! It should be interesting to see/hear the reactions of attendees regarding blogging, and I think the mets track will be informative as well. Have a great time.
